Ammon, a Nephite missionary serving King Lamoni, stands ready to defend the king's flocks with a star-headed macana from raiders at the waters of Sebus. The painted scene reflects an attempt solve the anachronistic presence of 'flocks' (often depicted as sheep in Mormon artwork) and 'swords' in the Book of Mormon. It depicts alpacas grazing on terraced Andean mountainsides. Drawn from Alma 17-18, where Ammon's defense of the flocks leads to King Lamoni's conversion.
