A Young Woman Prays, and her Heavenly Mother wants to reply but is blocked by Heavenly Father.

Painted scene of a young woman with long brown hair kneeling at her bedside in a tan cable-knit sweater and jeans, hands clasped and eyes turned upward in prayer. Beside her, a brass-framed bed with a blue floral coverlet sits next to a wooden nightstand holding a lit lamp and a small framed picture. Above the bed, a glowing cloud holds a vision of roughly a dozen women of varied ages and ethnicities in flowing white robes; one in the foreground steps forward with both arms outstretched toward the praying woman. To the right, a white-bearded man in white robes raises an open palm between the woman and the reaching mother, blocking her approach.

A young woman kneels at her bedside, praying in tears. Her Heavenly Mother, whom the LDS Church teaches exists but forbids members to address, reaches down to minister to her, but Heavenly Father raises his hand to block her approach. Behind her stand many more heavenly women, an acknowledgement of LDS doctrine that God is a polygamist, so no member can know which Heavenly Mothers is theirs. The LDS Church permits acknowledging Heavenly Mother's existence but prohibits praying to her or seeking any relationship with her — a doctrine that marginalizes women's eternal role even in the hereafter.
